Canada is known for its long winters, an inordinate number of expats in Hollywood, and Molson beer, but it’s also home to some serious custom trucks. It could be those months at a time locked in a garage that gives owners the focus and determination to build awesome trucks. Neil Tomyn’s 1968 GMC certainly falls in that category, with a built 434 cubic-inch engine with F.A.S.T. fuel injection, AFR heads, a Scat rotating assembly, a Comp Cams drivetrain and 11.8:1 pistons. That power gets sent through a built 700R4 trans with a shift kit and 3,200-stall converter, finally hitting the ground through a 12-bolt rear end with 3.73 gears and an Eaton PosiTrac. The truck rides on a No Limit suspension with AccuAir E-Level, Ride Tech front shocks, and AFCD double-adjustable rear shocks. Body mods were kept to a minimum except for some seriously beefy rolling stock in the form of 285/30-19 front and 345/30-19 rear Nitto Invo tires on Intro Pristine wheels. Tomyn says “the truck has been a lot of fun to build and a total blast to drive.”
