2007 Havasu Havoc Custom Truck Show

The State 2 State journey culminated Friday night at Lake Havasu, Arizona, with groups of trucks and boats reuniting coincidentally on the final stretch into town. Tired from a full day's journey that for some had lasted upwards of fifteen hours start to finish, there was just enough time to grab a bite to eat before falling asleep to the sound of the hotel's air conditioning.

The West Coast Havoc stop was held at the London Bridge Resort, within walking distance of London Bridge itself. Rolling in bright and early Saturday morning, the event was already in full swing, with owners detailing their rides and vendors manning their booths. Seasoned truck showers wisely brought canopies to hang out under, and the even smarter ones brought board shorts and bikinis, seeking refuge in Lake Havasu. Guests from the London Bridge Resort and other vacationers could be seen wandering around in amazement, taking pictures in front of the "big blue one" or the "little yellow one that goes up and down," and police dropped by stroll through the show.

This show lasted a full two days, Saturday and Sunday, with judging on both days, and a wild bikini contest on Sunday. Many chose to lock up their rides and leave them at the show overnight, in order to enjoy some Lake Havasu nightlife, including the 8-Lug Release Party.

Nitto Tire brought out their impressive rig and showcased a blindingly red Ferrari F430. MBRP also hauled out its trailer, and so did Precision Grilles, Mac's Springs, and Primedia, to name a few. Air Zenith, Domination the Video, US Wheel, Drop Em Wear, Fabtech, Custom Stripper Pole, Diesel Girlz, and Go-Ez were all present, just to name a few, and Mad House FX handled the tunes. Primedia gave away tons of magazines and stickers, including blow-up "HAVOC" beach balls.

Custom trucks littered the green hilly field, from lifted to lowered, fullsize to mini, stock to wild. Jay Martinez's 1999 GMC Sierra (Sport Truck March 2007 cover) deservingly took home several Best Of's trophies, and we spotted several SEMA vehicles, including the red (1 of 16 existing!) '37 Terraplane Pickup, which took home best engine. I spotted a favorite truck, and was glad to see that Truckin' Magazine had picked out this clean truck to shoot pictures of while in scenic Havasu. Speaking of pictures, magazine editors could be seen wildly shooting pictures all weekend long; hopefully you had the chance to say hello!

Thanks to the sponsors, vendors, promoters, and all those who attended, for making this year's Havoc Havasu a success.
