How Much?
Including the initial cost of the truck, which is admittedly low, I've got about $2,500 in the truck as it sits with the external cleanup. Speaking of "as it sits", it does not do that well. A moderate drop is sorely needed. There are people out there who are looking to unload vehicles, and these trucks are bargains as it is. Hunt around, find one that's sitting, spend wisely, and build it on the cheap side.

Project CheapSide hits Test and Tune at Route 66 Raceway
To brighten up the rims, I removed the plastic black centers, and applied aluminum rim cleaner. Check out the great Rt. 66 Motorsports fitment and paint match of the door and fender as I'm fueling up headed for Test and Tune at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL.

Wanting to establish a baseline for future performance modifications to my 350 TBI motor, I anxiously lined up for tech at the Test and Tune. As raced, the truck tips the scales at 3805 pounds as you see it here, without the driver.

Best run of the night, with the truck weighing 3,805 pounds at the scales (without the driver) was a 16.68 at 79 mph.

As you can see, the work is not done. Project CheapSide stance is all wrong and missing the front air deflector under the bumper. Part 2 of the series includes a nice 3/4 drop from Stylin' Trucks, along with a slight improvement in the wheel and tire department.
