The 2013 Holley LS Fest took place September 6-8, 2013, at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky. LS Fest was a celebration of anything powered by a GM LS engine, whether it be a race car, street rod, muscle car, or truck, and included such events as drag racing, autocross, a 3S challenge, a show-n-shine, and more. Knowing that LS Fest provided the perfect pool of performance trucks, Truckin hosted a special Throwdown event for pre-selected trucks. Similar to other Throwdown events (with the qualification of being limited to LS-powered LS Fest trucks), the trucks were put to the test in the quarter mile drag, 3S Challenge, autocross, and 600 ft. slalom courses, and additionally were subjected to Truckin’s show-n-shine scrutiny. The slalom course consisted of six cones placed 100 feet apart. The 3S Challenge was a unique event in which two competitors lined up for a 1,000-foot sprint straight into 180-degree turns away from each other. After a quick 3-cone slalom, they ended in a stop box.
All eleven trucks that competed in Throwdown at LS Fest were of the GM make: three mini trucks, five Silverados, and three C/K’s. Check out some of the action here, and stay tuned for full results and coverage in an upcoming issue of Truckin Magazine!
